Wings (Wings #1) by Aprilynne Pike

Goodreads Summary:
Laurel was mesmerized, staring at the pale things with wide eyes. They were terrifyingly beautiful--too beautiful for words.
Laurel turned to the mirror again, her eyes on the hovering petals that floated beside her head. They looked almost like wings.
In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever.
My Review:
Wings is the 1st book in the Wings series by April Pike. Laurel thinks she's a normal human teenager until one day she sprouts a flower on her back.

This was a very enjoyable book to read. Laurel had no idea what was happening when she sprouted. Fortunately she was able to find the answers with the help of David, her new friend at school.

I like David very well. He was very supportive of Laurel and helped her to figure out what was going on. He also tried to make her feel better about her flower.

However, we also have a few bad guys thrown in for good measure. This made for a very exciting ending.

I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to reading the next one.
