IS HE HER MORTAL ENEMY
Lady Shay is the last of her kind. Half human, half Shalott, her blood is a precious aphrodisiac to vampires, who consider it more precious than gold. Though Shalotts are renowned assassins, a curse held over Shay lands her on the slave auction block, where her fate is uncertain-
OR THE MAN WHO WILL RISK IT ALL
Viper, the beguiling chief of a deadly vampire clan, can't explain his longing to possess the beautiful Shalott who once saved his life, but now he is free to do anything he wants with her. Strangely, while he desires both Shay-s blood and body, he wants her to surrender willingly.
TO SAVE HER LIFE?
A hidden evil has been stalking Shay since she left the slave market with Viper. It is an evil that endangers the very existence of Viper's kind, and there's no reason he should court such danger just to protect a Shalott. But the love he feels for Shay is enough to make him willing to go to hell and back if it means spending an eternity with her in his arms.
My Review:
Embrace The Darkness is the 2nd book in the Guardians of Eternity series by Alexandra Ivy. At the beginning of this book Viper buys a half Shallot demon named Shay. She's beautiful and has intrigued him in ways that he does not understand. They are soon caught up in the mystery of who else wants her and why, who killed her father, and who cursed her to begin with. Unfortunately the answers go far beyond them.
This was a fun book to read. There is lots of action, adventure, mystery, and hot sex. What’s not to like? There is also a lot of humor woven into the story and I really enjoy that.
I like Shay. She's been a slave most of her life and she doesn't understand what Viper sees in her beyond her delicious blood.
I also like Viper. He's a mysterious, super sexy vampire. He's never been in love and he doesn't understand his feelings for Shay.
One of my favorite characters is Levet. He's a miniature gargoyle with delicate gossamer wings. He's also very loyal to Shea and annoying to Viper.
I also like that we see Dante and Abby in this book.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend that if you're looking for a light read.
