Torn by Erica O'Rourke

Goodreads Summary:
Mo Fitzgerald knows about secrets. But when she witnesses her best friend's murder, she discovers Verity was hiding things she never could have guessed. To find the answers she needs and the vengeance she craves, Mo—quiet, ordinary, unmagical Mo—will have to enter a world of raw magic and shifting alliances. And she'll have to choose between two very different, equally dangerous guys—protective, duty-bound Colin and brash, mysterious Luc. One wants to save her, one wants to claim her. Which would you choose?

My Review:

At the beginning of the novel, Mo witnesses the murder of her best friend Verity. She quickly discovers that Verity had secrets and discovering the secrets may be the key to finding her murderer.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a lot of fun.

I really liked Mo. She was raised to be quiet and never cause a scene. After Verity's death she realizes that she's tired of being that way. If she wants to find answers she's going to have to look for them herself. What she discovers is a lot more than she bargained for. I think she handles it really well.

I also liked Colin. He was hired by her uncle to be her bodyguard. He was one of the 1st to see the changes in her. This of course made his life much more difficult. She could talk to him and he would listen. This was more than what her family could do.

I also like Luc. He was mysterious and a connection to Verity. He's also pretty much done what he's been told too. He too learns that that's not always the best idea.

I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to reading the next one.
