I was tagged by Jess @ Jessy's Bookends

These are the questions that she had for me:

1. Why you did decide start blogging? In July of 2011 I was diagnosed with ALS (a.k.a. Lou Gehrig's disease). It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease. At the time I was an avid knitter and crocheter. In October I realized that knitting and crocheting was becoming a lot of work and not much fun. I decided that it was time to give it up. I quickly realized that I needed a project to work on. I wanted something that had nothing to do with ALS and that I could do in spite of having ALS. I've always loved to read so starting a book review blog seemed like a natural thing to do.

2. Why is the 1st book you remember reading? Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder. I was in 3rd grade. I became an avid reader after that.

3. If you were a writer, what genre would you choose for your writing? Paranormal/urban fantasy are my favorite genres.

4. What characteristics should a book have to be on your TBR list? I like a book with a good plot and a fast pace.

5. What book do you love because it is meaningful to you or meaningful because it relates to your life experiences? I really liked Perfect Chemistry because I could relate to so much of it. I grew up with the younger brother who has cerebral palsy. I helped take care of him growing up. My mother didn't want to admit that she had problems and she wanted everything to appear to be perfect. When I brought home a man who rode a motorcycle, wore a black leather jacket, smoked cigarettes, and didn't go to college, she was not happy with me. She couldn't look beyond the outside appearances to see that he was a wonderful man. Unfortunately she passed away before she really got to know him. We've been married for 22 years. He's been very loving and supportive of me and he didn't run screaming into the night when I was diagnosed with ALS.

6. What book do you think is perfect to be given as a gift? That really depends on who you are giving the book to and what their interests are. My daughter gave me Catching Jordan for my birthday this year and I loved it. The Hunger Games or Harry Potter would also be good for gift giving.

7. Which movie based on a book have you watched that has been really similar to the book? The 1st couple of Harry Potter movies were pretty close to the books. Little House on the Prairie was also pretty close to the book.

8. Have you ever read a book that made you hate the day that Gutenberg invented the printing press? No. I've read books that I don't particularly care for but if I really hate the book I won't finish reading it.

9. Who is your favorite author? Recommend one of his/her books. That's a tough one. I don't have one favorite author, I have many favorite authors. I suppose if I had to recommend one book it would be Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.

10. In a post apocalyptic world which would you prefer having a. A crate full of books or b. A Kindle or Nook or other reader. Why?Well I have very little use of my hands. Holding a paper book and turning the pages is very difficult for me. I'm also very weak. I love my Nook tablet and find it is very easy for me to use. At this point in my life if I can't read it on my Nook then I'm not going to read it.

11. Which ways can you recommend for people to have access to read great books or new books in the market? The 1st thing that jumps to mind is the library. That can be a great way for people to have access to books for free. I wish that there were more libraries with e-books to lend. That solves transportation problems in getting the library.

4. If you could meet 1 author who would it be?
5. Which published book do you wish you had written?
6. If you could date any book character, who would it be and why?

8. If you could give any book character advice, who would it be and what would you tell him/her?

10. What is your favorite genre to read?
